Mara Fabbro
Mara Fabbro was born in Castello d'Aviano in Friuli Venezia Giulia, where she lives and works. After graduating from high school, she began her career while always keeping her passion for painting alive.
In developing her artistic practice, Fabbro studies and works as a self-taught, experimenting with pictorial techniques and analyzing aesthetic currents and thoughts.
Her continuous research leads her to define her own artistic canons and the development of an original technique, capable of expressing a personal artistic gesture.
Through the research of natural materials and pigments, Fabbro has created a sandy dough that she spreads and works with her hands, spatulas, and other tools, subsequently intervening with the acrylic pigment. The choice of this material is the result of her research and her desire to create a "living" work with a strong visual impact. Thanks to the visual and tactile materiality, a three-dimensional quality is added to the pictorial work.
The supports on which Mara Fabbro applies the material are plywood and PVC.
The inspiration and motivation of her work come from the observation of the human being and from her habitat. Fabbro wants to investigate the relationship and bond between man and nature, an indissoluble equation which, with ever greater urgency, requires responsible choices and attention, and global involvement.
Today a multimedia artist, Mara Fabbro uses in her artistic practice, not only painting, but also photography and installation. Especially when manual skills are not sufficient to express the concept or to establish additional interaction with the public.
