Painter of matter
I love working with materials, creating new surfaces and imagining new worlds.
I seek the balance between the elements, a fixed, reassuring point, in a historical moment where precariousness, in all aspects, is the protagonist of our days.
Making material, tactile works is a way to attract the attention of the child within us: the desire to touch in order to discover and understand.
It is my way of getting closer to the observer, of communicating with him by recreating the wonder and amazement of being able to “feel” a work of art even with touch, and making him enter the three-dimensional world of my vision of art.
My work is an interpretation of reality, of man's relationship with his habitat. It is a view from above of a fragment of our planet that contains other microcosms within it.
I like to start a game with the observer to discover which strip of land is represented on the canvas, stimulating curiosity, imagination and even memory.
I create a mixture of sands, resins, glues, a dough created by me and experimented over the years that I apply in several layers, modeling it both with my hands and with various tools.
I use multiple textures that give life to ever-original scenarios . The surfaces are irregular, tactile, plastic and the acrylic color pigments emphasize every ripple of the material.
I would like to encourage the observer to look from multiple points of view: to move away to have a broader and more comprehensive vision of the composition, up to a close encounter with the material to discover its details and secrets.
