Expansive Texture

The series draws inspiration from the aerial view of the Anthozoan Coral, whose captivating, flower-like forms conceal a complex organism made up of thousands of identical individuals. This microcosm becomes a metaphor for life on ourplanet, where we inhabit a shared and fragile body.

Through textured surfaces and expanding circular forms—sometimes explosive—Mara Fabro evokes the tension betweenunity and multiplicity. Her use of layered material and radiating lines recalls centrifugal forces extending outward, transforming vulnerability and movement into matter.

The project investigates the daily challenge of maintaining balance—within ourselves and with our environment. Like coral, sensitive and vulnerable to change, human beings are exposed to the pressures of an increasingly accelerated world, seeking escape and expansion beyond their physical and planetary boundaries.
