The Buried Layers of Time
This series of works created around the circular shape , was born from the need to stop the flow of things, to calm the sensations of inevitability and impotence that the incessant passage of Time generates.
I translate the almost cathartic passage from a time in progress to a historical time through the use of matter, that is, a mixture that has body and is almost three-dimensional.
I spread the mixture heterogeneously so that it generates shadows and ripples, I shape it to evoke organic surfaces and the natural elements of the subsoil.
Finally, the application of color allows me to emphasize the material with a chromatic palette in harmony with the beauty of the earth.
The circle is my expressive tool to interpret the natural world and to represent the continuous and cyclical movement of the flow of time . Kandinsky also considered the circle an expression of the temporal dimension, a primary and fundamental form that leads to infinity.
From the encounter of matter with the circular geometric shape, irregular and harmonious surfaces emerge on which the circle rests - whole or fragmented - it rests as a living trace of a deep bond with the universe and its generative forces. A sign that continues to expand, in search of new connections that represents the interconnection with the universe and generative energies.
