The Gong Cities
Seen from above, cities reveal their deepest nature: expanding circular forms, organic structures growing like living organisms, energy radiating from the center to the periphery. This series elevates the viewpoint to an almost geographical dimension. The compositions evoke the sound of the gong—the ancient Chinese instrument whose vibration expands through space and time, like the pulsating rhythm of a growing metropolis. This is superimposed by another reference: the Renaissance dome, where the gaze ascends toward a suspended space, a symbol of infinity and transcendence. The material translates all this—urban tension, collective desire, invisible connections—to the surface. A city observed from above, experienced from within. Memory, energy, and symbolic resonance held together in a single form.
The Work in Architecture
The Gong Cities develops around central circular forms from which dynamic material structures radiate outward. The composition creates a centrifugal movement that organizes the space and guides the eye, establishing a clear focal point. The textured surfaces respond to light, enhancing rhythm and depth. The series is designed to: – define a visual center in large spaces – structure complex or empty walls – introduce energy and direction into the spatial composition. Particularly suited for contemporary residential interiors and architecturally driven projects.
